The Chateau at Incline Village, Lake Tahoe – Sacramento Wedding Photographer

Heather and Andrew were married last Saturday at The Chateau at Incline Village in Lake Tahoe.  The weather was actually very nice.  The sun peeked from the clouds from time to time.  There was a chill but tolerable (for me, at least).   It was supposed to rain in the afternoon but it stayed clear for us.   We were allowed to go to the golf course area where no photographer has much access during the summer.  What an amazing backdrop for two beautiful people.  I was so excited.  Heather was such a trooper until the end of the session when the sun started to set behind the mountain.  That’s when I saw her start to shiver.  Just in time.  The wedding went very well as planned and on time.  I had the fantastic Carmen Salazar helping me that day.  Thank you.  Shelly Larkin of Pizzazz Event Planning coordinated the day which was flawless.  After the wedding, since we stayed the night, the three of us hung around the hotel restaurant until 2 am talking the night away.

The wedding was so much fun.  I enjoyed being with such lovely bunch of  people who were having a great time.     The photos came out amazingly.  I am so excited to share it with you.

Jessica and Ryan – Sacramento Portrait Photographer

It was so much fun spending the morning with Jessica and Ryan.  We planned a session so I can get to know them better.  The weather was perfect and I had a blast photographing them both.   I’m so glad that there was no one there and we had the park to ourselves.  I am absolutely a nervous wreck when I have to climb boulders (climbing anything steep and involves water for that matter) that I had them do all the jumping and stayed put where I’m dry and safe :).   Jessica and Ryan are funny and so much fun to be around.  I can’t wait for the Tahoe wedding which is coming up soon.  Love, love, love the photos!

Winters, CA – Sacramento Portrait Photographer

My husband has been wanting to visit the town of Winters and we finally had a weekend to just relax and have time to explore this beautiful town.  I’m glad we did. Winters is  a small town just east of Davis, off of Route 505.  I was pleasantly surprised of its charm and pleasant atmosphere.  We stopped at  the local tourist office and talked with a very nice man who worked there.  There were local goodies like chocolates and nuts that of course we couldn’t resist and bought some.   For lunch because the weather was so beautiful, we ate outdoors at a corner restaurant called Putah Creek Cafe (that’s after examining that the menu had chicken fingers for the kids).  I had a lovely taco salad and shared a chocolate shake with my son. (okay its the weekend, we can splurge a little).  We walked along the main street.  There were so many historic buildings and a lot of little nooks and crannies to photograph.  We went to the bridge that was quite old.  I believe it use to be a railroad bridge.  Kids enjoyed that.

We came across this Wine TastingRoom owned by Turkovich Family Wines.   The people were very nice and we were able to taste some of their beautiful wines.  It was very good that we decide to purchase a bottle of the Syrah.  The room just opened two months ago.  It has a warm and inviting atmosphere.   I couldn’t help but photograph it.

At the end, we stopped at a candy shop.  My husband couldn’t resist the mouth-watering fudge especially the Creamsicle Orange Cream Fudge.  Okay, this time I said no to anymore sweets.  Overall, the trip was fun and relaxing. It was nice to just relax and enjoy a beautiful day with the family.  I even come across a friend from Davis.

The Old Sugar Mill at Carvahlo Family Winery

This weekend I was invited to photograph the Port and Chocolate at the Carvahlo Family Winery at the Old Sugar Mill. How can you say no?  Chocolate and wine..must I say more.   It was a two day event with a huge turn out.  The crowd in each winery rooms were mostly three people deep.  As I left after 3 hours at the event, the line outside was very long.  I met a local artist named Julie Bjorgum.  She had table there as a featured artist.  Amazing work. There were several wineries there as well: The 3 Wine Company , Heringer Estates , Todd Taylor Wines , Cloud 9 Wines.  Carvahlo Family Winery has several events like this throughout the year.  Check out their website and see the upcoming events.

Sacramento Portrait Photographer – Engagement of Heather and Andrew

Heather and Andrew are so beautiful together, Heather with her contagious smile and Andrew with his mild and sweet demeanor.  It  was a perfect day to be outside. The weather was amazing.  We had clouds that hid the sun at times. And, when sun did come out we had great shadows from it.   I love photographing in these conditions because you have the beautiful light from the sun and you also get the nice lighting when it’s behind the clouds. Although, I had to constantly change my camera exposure to compensate for tricky lighting, it was definitely worth it. Heather and Andrew are such an easy -going couple to be with.  They’re fun and they can’t stop kissing each other (what’s up with that? 🙂  I guess that’s what happens when you’re in love.  I can’t wait to photograph their wedding at The Chateau in Lake Tahoe.  They’re hoping for lots of snow.  We’ll keep our fingers crossed.
