My husband has been wanting to visit the town of Winters and we finally had a weekend to just relax and have time to explore this beautiful town. I’m glad we did. Winters is a small town just east of Davis, off of Route 505. I was pleasantly surprised of its charm and pleasant atmosphere. We stopped at the local tourist office and talked with a very nice man who worked there. There were local goodies like chocolates and nuts that of course we couldn’t resist and bought some. For lunch because the weather was so beautiful, we ate outdoors at a corner restaurant called Putah Creek Cafe (that’s after examining that the menu had chicken fingers for the kids). I had a lovely taco salad and shared a chocolate shake with my son. (okay its the weekend, we can splurge a little). We walked along the main street. There were so many historic buildings and a lot of little nooks and crannies to photograph. We went to the bridge that was quite old. I believe it use to be a railroad bridge. Kids enjoyed that.
We came across this Wine TastingRoom owned by Turkovich Family Wines. The people were very nice and we were able to taste some of their beautiful wines. It was very good that we decide to purchase a bottle of the Syrah. The room just opened two months ago. It has a warm and inviting atmosphere. I couldn’t help but photograph it.
At the end, we stopped at a candy shop. My husband couldn’t resist the mouth-watering fudge especially the Creamsicle Orange Cream Fudge. Okay, this time I said no to anymore sweets. Overall, the trip was fun and relaxing. It was nice to just relax and enjoy a beautiful day with the family. I even come across a friend from Davis.

Hi Sharon, I am doing spring cleaning in the office and guess what I found, your old business card. I am glad I did because when I checked your website I enjoyed every thing I see. Loved all the pictures especially Winters.
Awesome photos! I have lived in Winters for the past 12 years. I was amazed how you captured some details/buildings around town and made them into beautiful art! You are truly talented.

FYI for those who are not familiar with where Winters is: We are WEST of Davis. 🙂 🙂 Not east.
