Last night, I was invited to watch and photograph the Sacred City Derby Girls season opener against the Central Coast Roller Derby team. The bout seemed pretty one sided. The aggressive but graceful Sacred City Derby Girls beat the Central Coast by whopping 193 – 47. It was pretty hard to watch as the girls slam against each other, falling hard and I mean hard and get up again and again. These girls are tough. You can see it in their eyes which are full of determination. The arena was packed with people with standing room only. They have a huge fan base and I can see why. If you want to see a bout, check out their website and buy tickets. The bouts are held at Roller King in Roseville. I got some great shots and would love to share some with you.
