Senior Week – Ignite your sparkle

Roseville Senior Photographer – Corban

I’m so excited when my good friend Deana called to ask me to photograph her son.  I’ve known Corban since he was tiny.  Corban is very active in sports…hockey in particular.  He will be going off to college and his mom and dad are so proud of him as I am.  I enjoyed photographing him.  He is kind, intelligent and super handsome.

Here are a few questions I asked him about himself, future and his senior portrait session:

  1. What extracurricular activities are you involved in? What about any interests?

I play defense on Tri-Valley Blue Devils ice hockey team. I enjoy playing basketball and my favorite sports teams are the LA Lakers (Kobe) & SJ Sharks. I enjoy photography too, was teaching assistant senior year for my high school photography instructor, and I like designing athletic wear (T-shirts and sweatshirts for friends, classmates & relatives). Would love to work for a company like Nike.

  1. What kind of look were you going for in the shoot?

Casual, outdoor

  1. How was your overall senior photo session experience?

Great, Auntie Sharon is the best! It was fun.

  1. What’s one piece of advice you have for other seniors getting their picture taken?

Bring interesting props if you can

  1. How many outfits did you bring and was it enough? Was it too much? Anything you’d change?

3-4 was just right. Auntie Sharon recommended what to bring and suggested rolling sleeves up

  1. How did you choose to accessorize your outfits?

My mom had googled images of hockey senior portraits and liked those in dress clothes holding hockey gear (instead of jersey in full gear) so I packed a bow tie and vest. Auntie Sharon found the cool underpass to pose under.

  1. Did you bring any props? If so, what were they and why did you decide to bring it?

Hockey helmet, stick and gloves because I’ve played ice hockey since about age 8

  1. How would you advise someone else to prepare for a senior photo session?

Get your hair trim about a week ahead.

9.  What are your plans for after high school graduation?

Attend SJSU to major in Marketing and minor in Graphic Design

10.  What are three words you would use to describe yourself?

creative, fun, & active
