Spinnakers Restaurant – Sacramento wedding photographer

Showers were predicted for the day. Instead, we had a gorgeous day. Though I’ve only known Nancy for a short time, it feels like we’ve been friends forever. Nancy has the personality that would light up the room with her smile, not to mention the giggles. It wasn’t too long ago when we chatted about how hard it is to find the “the guy” and here she is marrying “the perfect guy”. I’m so happy for the two of them.

It was so great to take photos in San Francisco again. I love going to those beautiful settings and backdrops. When Nancy called me to photograph her wedding, I immediately thought of my two favorite locations. Since I moved to Roseville, I decided that I wasn’t going to take jobs that would have to take me all the way to the Bay Area. The reception took place at Spinnakers Restaurant in Sausalito. But after this, I would love to have the opportunity to photograph there again.

Bella Piazza Winery – Dancing in the Piazza!

Bella Piazza Winery was the perfect setting for a perfect wedding. The weather was perfect as well. Light breeze and sunshine. Jami and Jim were both calm throughout the day–start to finish. Jami, with champagne at hand, sat patiently as two hairstylist worked on her hair. Way to go!! The flowers by Blooms by Martha Andrews were so beautiful. I really enjoy photographing a wedding with not only a great setting but also with gorgeous details such as flowers. It was so nice to have the dancing outdoors. It felt like you were actually in an outdoor plaza in Italy. I didn’t realize that Jim can actually get wild on the dance floor. And, so did everyone else. At this wedding, everyone old and young were on the dance floor all night until the end. It was too bad the dancing ended too soon for most. After Jami flung her bouquet into the crowd, they said their farewells and drove away to a waiving crowd. Click here to view their wedding slideshow.

The Chateau in Lake Tahoe – Sacramento wedding photographer

Tahoe was perfect! The weather was amazing…sunny skies everywhere. Because it was a holiday weekend, I thought we’d leave super early to beat the traffic. As it turned out, there were no traffic at all. So Jackie, my assistant, and I decided to find a spot to just hangout and wait. And, we found the perfect spot and parked and took in the beautiful view of the lake. I never get tired of Lake Tahoe. I’m so lucky now that my family and I live pretty close to it and get there fairly quickly which is nice if you have three young boys to bring along.

We started at Jennifer’s mom’s house to take photos as she gets ready. Jennifer looked so elegant in her gorgeous dress although it took several tries by (I think) all the bridesmaids to figure out how to work the snaps. Thank goodness for mom to the rescue. A big applause erupted as the mission was accomplished. After the ceremony, we went to a private beach to take quick photos of Jennifer and Mike. We were followed by an entourage of little girls who were so amazed and/or curious by what we were doing there. Yes, I know the bride and groom were gorgeous. Thanks Stephan for helping with carrying the camera bag for us. Stephan’s wife mentioned that he doesn’t like or wouldn’t sit still for photos. Well, he can run but he can’t hide from me. I got a couple of good ones of him. I had a great time with both families who were warm and fun to be around. **Click here** for view their slideshow.

Sacramento Wedding Photographer / a feast for the eyes!!

What an evening full of culture and tradition. Raksha and Vikram had an engagement ceremony that was so fascinating. The traditional Indian clothing the men and women wore were breathtaking…the color, the exquisite details, everything. In the Indian ceremony, it is traditional that the groom along with his family come to the home of the bride bearing gifts. Although I didn’t understand the language as the ceremony moved along, you can feel the essence of the ceremony by watching their movements and hand gestures. After the ceremony, everyone feasted on, of course, delicious Indian food. The reception was held the next day at the Hyatt and was just as extravagant as the day before. Raksha and Vikram’s speech were touching and eloquent. Raksha and Vikram are two people truly in love.

Firehouse Restaurant and Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament – a perfect "pear"

The wedding day was held on the hottest weekend in Sacramento. Sweat and all, we managed to have fun. I truly enjoyed being around Noel and Maggie…..Maggie with her neverending warm smile and Noel’s courteous demeanor. You guys made me feel like we’re old friends. The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament was beautiful and so were the people who helped celebrate this special occasion. After the ceremony, because the weather was so uncomfortable, we decided to go indoors to take photos. We then headed to Maggie’s sister’s house for the traditional Chinese Ceremony. The bride was wearing her red Chinese gown. Gorgeous!! And, let’s not forget about the jewelry and red envelops that they received from their family. Mrs. Ho gave me one, too. Thanks!!! Noel, who’s Filipino, wore the traditional Filipino formal attire called “Barong Tagalog”. During the Chinese ceremony, he kept trying to speak a Chinese phrase—and, as a result, brought giggles and down right laughter in the room. The reception was at the Firehouse Restaurant in Old Sacramento. The dinner and party took place outdoors. I was surprised the temperature was quite pleasant under the huge trees that covered the reception area. I was so glad that Maggie and Noel agreed to take more photos and, as a result, we shot some pretty awesome photos. I have to give kudos to Chris, the coordinator/friend/groomsman, who did a fabulous job coordinating everything and kept the party fun. His toast to the bride and groom was hilarious. Maggie you did a great job with the small details at the reception. Noel and Maggie, you are an amazing couple. **Click here** to view their slideshow.
