cutie pie!

I’m trying to keep up with my blog entries. I have several more to show you guys so keep checking back.

I just want to share with you some of the photos I took a few weeks ago of a cute 3 month old baby girl. Look at that cute face! Big brother is so proud and so happy to hold her sister in his arms. You can tell the excitement in his eyes as he takes charge of holding his baby sister.

sophisticated elegance!

I thought I’d share Michelle and Ruel’s wedding album. The wedding took place in Newport Beach, CA. Ruel and Michelle are another couple who are so sweet and kind. I love the detail that Michelle put in this wedding…from her dress to her hair and the dramatic RED slipcovers. Notice the design of her wedding invitation is taken from the cake tablecloth and also placed as decoration on the cake. Beautiful! And, since her color theme was red and orange, their toasting drink itself was layered in red and orange. The details were phenomenal.

I love designing these albums. It’s like icing on the cake. I am able to showcase not only the beautiful photographs but also the story of the day. The album is basically a storybook. I love for my clients to be able to view their albums and relive the wedding as they remembered it. And, sometimes better :). I just got an email from a client whose wedding I photographed over 5 years ago. She mentioned that she looks at her wedding album almost every week. How sweet is that? Love it!

kind and loving!

The wedding of Christine and Ryan took place in September in San Francisco. I was honored to be asked to photograph Christine’s wedding. Our parents go way back and I remember Christine attended my wedding almost exactly 15 years ago. She was only, I think 11 years old. She was very cute. I hadn’t seen her since until I saw her again to photograph her and Ryan two months before their wedding. When I met Ryan, I was very impressed of how down to earth and kind he was. Christine looked like the exact copy of her mother.

The wedding took place the weekend when the Bay Bridge was to be closed for the weekend. The wedding ceremony took place at the
Swedenborgian Church in San Francisco and reception was at Spinnaker in Sausalito. So, we were very anxious about getting across the bridge in time for the reception. We were anticipating lots of traffic on the Golden Gate Bridge.

This wedding, I guess you can say, is a very highly anticipated one. Ryan and Christine have been together for many years. So you can imagine the emotions that were felt all around. As Christine puts on her dress, tears started pouring out. She hugs her mother. Christine is their only child so you can just imagine how Becky, the mom, was feeling. I tried to fight back tears–I have a job to do! She looked amazingly beautiful that day. Her hair, make up and dress were perfect. The flowers designed by Tomobi Floral Art was beautiful.

The ceremony site was very intimate with candles that lit the alter. It was small so it made for a very intimate setting. After the ceremony, as we left the church to sign the papers we heard applause from the crowd we just left. The minister told us they were applauding Christine’s parents–Becky and Tim. I giggled when I heard it because Becky and Tim are so down-to-earth, funny and caring people and it shows in how they raised Christine.

After the ceremony, we headed to the Legion of Honor. We tried to hurry as much as we can because we were anticipating traffic and we didn’t want to be late for the reception. So we decided to take the rest of the time for additional photos on the other side of Golden Gate Bridge just in case of traffic. Surprisingly, there was no traffic at all. I wanted to make a U-turn on the bridge to go back to the city for more photos. But, we headed up to the Marine Headlands for more photos. Those photos turned out great and we got to the reception in plenty of time.

The reception was full of fun times. Christine and Ryan who reside in Southern California have plenty of friends from there attending their wedding. The DJ initiated a competition using games between the groups from the north and south. It was pretty funny and wild. There were lots of laughter. I even got a sip of my first Dom Perignon. Ryan was so generous to share his bottle of this premium champagne with me. His father was so proud that he opened a bottle of liquor that a very special friend had given him when Ryan was born.

Ryan and Christine are two genuinely kind and sweet people. They are so lucky to have each other. Click here to view their slideshow.

Happy New Year!!

I know, I know I have been neglecting to blog. I’m constantly thinking, “how hard is it to just take a few moments to write and keep this blog up to date?” But everytime I sit to start, my mind wanders off to the millions of things that I should be doing in front of my computer. And, that’s what always happens. I end up working on my one of many things that are pending on my “to do” list. As I sit here, I am waiting for my kids to finish getting ready for bed. My son just called out that there is a lady bug in the shower and refuses to get in. Put that on my “to do” list. (#101. Take ladybug out of shower).

We had a great Christmas celebration. I have about ten nieces and nephews on my side alone and if you include my three boys, you can imagine how our family celebration was. It was a lot fun and I’m sure my kids will have fond memories of our yearly celebration just as I have of mine when I was growing up. I just want to share with you this year’s Christmas card. I had a heck of a time photographing my kids. The photos on the sides are my kid’s true personalities-goofy and gigly. Happy New Year, everyone!

fun and laughter!

I love to photograph children and I was happy to photograph the Ami Family at home where they were relaxed and can just be themselves. I spent a few a hours with them photographing little Ava and baby Nolan. Ava was excited to show me her room. Funny how she shut the door on her mom so we can be alone. She is full of personalilty. We had a great time together laughing. Nolan was pretty cute. Look at those cheeks. Click here to see the family album.
