Senior Portrait Session

I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to photograph Kayla.  She is such a beautiful girl who was a little shy.  I’m glad she opened up and relaxed with me and I was able to get these great shots of her.

another cute children’s photography session!

I’m so excited to share these photos with you.  She is so cute and wide-eyed.  The sunshine and the grass as a backdrop….perfect.  Top it off with this cute little girl in a white dress…. priceless.   Photographing children and being able to capture their innocence in these images is an amazing experience.    I photographed her when she was just 3 months old .  This was taken a couple of months ago and I just photographed her one year old photos.   Oh my, how time flies!

Spinnakers in Sausalito

I’m so behind with this blog. I have a ton of fabulous photos to share with you.  First, I will start with the wedding of Honor and Leah which took place a few weeks ago.  We started at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel at Union Square.  I met Leah and her bridesmaids there.  The room was  filled with fun and joyful women two of which are Leah’s older sisters.  They were all so sweet and funny.  It was very calming for Leah, I’m sure.  Leah was beaming and on time.  She thanked me for the timeline I drafted for her.  As we were leaving for the ceremony, I didn’t realize that the hotel had a mezzanine area with a beautiful windows and chandeliers.  The photographer in me was so excited to see the empty ballroom and asked Leah to come with me.  Wow, it was so beautiful.  I kept telling Leah, I wish that Honor was with us to take advantage of the elegant setting.  I got some really great photos there of Leah.

So, we head out to the ceremony which was held at St. Dominic’s Church in San Francisco.  I photographed a wedding there about seven years ago.  I still remember how beautiful that church was.  After the ceremony, we headed out to the Palace of Legion of Honor.  This location is very popular with many wedding groups.  The columns are gorgeous and for photographers the lighting is perfect.  When we were walking toward the museum, I noticed that there were several wedding parties that were on the grassy area.  I knew something was up.  As we walked up, there was this lady right at the entrance telling us that we are not allowed to photograph inside.  Bummer, we didn’t have much time to go somewhere else, but no worries, I’ve photographed outside of the museum and still produced great photos for the Leah and Honor.  They are such a sweet and loving couple that I had no trouble getting authentic photos of them together.

After this location, we set off to go to the Marine Headlands.  We photographed quickly because of our time constraints.  We, then, headed to Spinnaker in Sausalito where the couple had a great time celebrating with their friends and family.  One of the highlight of the evening is when Honor’s beautiful daughter serenaded the newlyweds with a couple of songs.  Another hightlight was when Leah’s dad got out of his wheelchair to dance with his daughter.  Not the slow kind either.  I love being part of something special in people’s lives and I’m lucky to be part of it even in just one evening.

Honor and Leah, you both are such a loving couple and authentically beautiful inside and out.  Best wishes to a great marriage.  Click here to view their wedding slideshow.

Washington, DC

Last week, we went to Washington DC to celebrate with my husband’s nephew who graduated from law school in Georgetown University.  We are so proud of him.

The rest of the week we spent exploring the museums and monuments.  What’s so great about going to DC is that most all of the major museums had free admission.  We first explored the Air and Space Museum which the kids loved.

As we walked out of the museum, we so a crowd gathering outside the “mall” area which is they call the parklike area in the middle where you can view the Capitol on one side and the Washington Monument on the other side.  It took us a while to figure out that everyone was there because Ben Stiller was filming “The Night at the Museum II”.  We saw a couple of takes and head off to to Washington Monument.  It would be exciting for the kids to say that they were there when they filmed the shot.

I think my kids enjoyed and learned so much about the history of America.  We drove for a couple of days to Virginia to see Mt. Vernon (George Washington’s home) and to Monticello (Thomas Jefferson’s home).  I personally enjoyed going to these historical homes of these important men and see and feel as much as possible how and where they lived.

As we, the grown ups, marvel at the historical significance of where we were, my two younger kids were for the most part enjoying it.  But, most of the attention is toward birds, squirrels, and animals at Mt Vernon and pretty much everywhere we went.   Although we were there for a week , we were not able to go to all of the places we wanted.  We walked and walked and soaked in as much as we can because we know that it will be a while before we can go back there again.

I’m so lucky to have had the chance to experience this beautiful city reminding us of how lucky we are to be in this country.

I’d like share with you some photos I took.  I didn’t bring my fancy camera.  I took my little tiny “point and shoot” Sony camera.  I like to travel light.  I’m glad that I didn’t bring anything else with all that walking I would have probably left it at the hotel anyway.

The Vizcaya

Lorraine and Jerry were married two weekends ago at the
Vizcaya. The weather was warm and beautiful. Lorraine was gorgeous and, of course, very calm and full of smiles. She said that she took my advice to let go of all the worries and just have a great time. And, she definitely did. I knew then that I will produce great photographs of Jerry and Lorraine. Jerry, too, was very calm and full of joy and looked very dashing in his tuxedo. I photographed him and his groomsmen outside before the ceremony. We had a great time photographing , especially in the middle of the street.  I took some fun shots of the guys.

The ceremony was very sweet. Jerry sang a song to Lorraine. Jerry’s grandma couldn’t stop saying how proud she was of her grandson. She was beaming. After the reception, we went out to photograph some more with just the bride and groom and Lorraine’s Mini Cooper.    I asked Jerry to park the car in the middle of the street. We got some really awesome shots. We then headed out to the Capitol for some more photos. Jerry stopped to buy some popsicles from a street vendor.  I was tempted to have some but refrain so I can photograph them eating it.

Lorraine and Jerry, you guys are so lucky to have found each other.  Good luck and best wishes for great marriage and years of happiness.
